Asphalt Plant Filter System

Asphalt Plant Filter System

The asphalt plant filter system is an essential piece of equipment used in the production of hot-mix asphalt. This system filters out particulates, gases, and smoke generated during asphalt production in the dryer, significantly reducing harmful emissions. The filter unit also collects stone dust (filler) from the dryer using filter bags and directs it to the filler silo or filler elevator for reuse.

Key Components of the Asphalt Plant Filter System

  1. Filter Bags: These bags capture particulates and smoke as gases pass through them. Made from high-temperature-resistant and specialized materials, they ensure efficient filtration.
  2. Suction Fan: This fan draws gases and particulates from the asphalt plant and directs them to the filter bags, where impurities are trapped, and clean air is released into the atmosphere.
  3. Cleaning System: As particulates accumulate, the filter bags may become clogged. The cleaning system regularly purges the filter bags to maintain their effectiveness and expel accumulated particles.

The asphalt plant filter system is custom-designed to match the plant’s capacity, geographical location, altitude, and climate. It is engineered to comply with international dust emission standards.

Advanced Filter Technology

Our filter systems feature a vertical cassette bag system for easy replacement and maintenance. These cassettes efficiently capture particulates and smoke, ensuring continuous, effective operation. The filter bags can be regularly cleaned and replaced to maintain optimal performance and control dust emissions.

The asphalt plant filter system significantly contributes to environmental protection and improved air quality. Designed to meet environmental regulations and international standards, it minimizes dust emissions, reduces the release of harmful particulates into the environment, and safeguards worker health.

Advantages of Alfamix Filter Systems

  • Reverse Flow System: Reduces air consumption and saves energy, providing efficient, long-lasting operation. Unlike jet pulse or pneumatic reverse flow systems, the reverse flow mechanism does not require a compressor, reducing operational and maintenance costs.
  • Temperature Control: Independent PT100 sensors and thermostats monitor temperature, and if the preset temperature is exceeded, the burner shuts off automatically to prevent filter fires.
  • Optional Blower System: Enhances the cleaning quality of filter bags, especially in humid regions, ensuring efficient operation.
  • Optional Clean Air Flap: Quickly cools the filter unit in case of overheating by opening to the atmosphere.
  • Cyclone Section: Integrated into the filter body, eliminating the need for a separate cyclone unit. This section separates coarse and fine fillers, maximizing efficiency.
  • High-Quality Materials: Our filters use high-performance Metaramid fabric bags that withstand high temperatures, ensuring efficient dust capture.

Asphalt Plant Filter and Fan Unit

The filter and fan unit consists of a dirty gas channel, clean gas channel, fan suction adjustment flap, and filter and fan assembly. The primary purpose is to capture dust and gases produced during asphalt production, filter them, and release clean air into the atmosphere. At Alfamix, we produce two types of filter systems: reverse flow filters and jet pulse filters, each with its benefits and limitations. We guide our customers in choosing the best option for their needs.

The main suction fan efficiently draws dust and dirty gases from the dryer, mixer group, and screen unit, passing them through specially designed, high-temperature-resistant Metaramid filter bags. This keeps the plant clean and operational at all times. We also use high-density insulation materials to protect the system from temperature fluctuations and preserve heat.

Our asphalt plant fans feature high-precision, proportional electric actuators, allowing operators to control suction settings easily. The fans operate silently, reducing noise pollution while eliminating dust pollution.
